VPixx
Technologies products
offer solutions to some of the more difficult technical challenges
facing vision scientists around the world today. Our
revolutionary DATAPixx data acquisition and graphics
system provides researchers with a hardware toolbox
implementing high performance video, analog I/O, digital I/O, and audio
I/O. By implementing all of these input / output functions in
a single peripheral, the DATAPixx resolves the long-standing technical
challenge of precisely synchronizing data input / output with video
refresh. For greatest flexibility under Mac OS X and Windows
XP, the DATAPixx can
be programmed through an ANSI C API, or from within the MATLAB
environment. For greatest convenience, the VPixx visual
testing program for Mac OS X can be used to quickly set up and run
experiments, and gather data.

- A single design
document contains all the
stimuli for an experiment
- Each stimulus is
a list of region definitions
and sequencing commands
- Each region
contains a list of patterns which
can be mathematically combined
- Double-clicking
on a stimulus, region, pattern,
or command will open a parameter dialog for convenient stimulus editing
- Stimulus
sequences controlled with per-frame
resolution
- Stimuli can be
incorporated into many testing
paradigms including Constant Stimuli, Adjustments, Habituation,
Staircase, and VPEST
- Calibrated
region colors can be specified in
LMS (cone response), and the CIE spaces XYZ, Lxy, Lu'v', L*u*v*, and
L*a*b*
- Stimulus
sequences can be exported as picture
files and Quicktime movies for publishing or classroom demonstrations
- Supports
DATAPixx data acquisition and graphics
system
